Golden dragonflies adorn all four sides and the top of this clear textured stained glass box. Swooped sides and layered solder add extra effect along with the unique glass chunk that I chose to use for the lid knob.
The texture of the glass is somewhat bumpy which gives the box an icy look. The bottom is clear textured glass as well. Gold dragonfly decals have been fused to the sides along with the top. The metals have been chemically treated with black patina.
Here I've displayed it with multiple colors of glass chunks, all salvaged from my home/workshop fire in 2014. The piece I chose for this box lid is a combination of clear, amber with a little bit of green. The glass chunk has been wrapped with wire and a hold drilled into the center of the lid to secure it. The glass pieces used to display the piece are not included but I would be happy to sell some of them.
The box measures 3 inches square at the base, 4 inches tall at the corners and 5 inches long by wide at the opening, 75 mm square at base, 10 cm tall nearly 13 cm by 13 cm at the top opening.
