Amber stained glass star mandala suncatcher has been handcrafted using three shades of golden amber stained glass all in gentle wavy Waterglass texture and a clear fern like texture for the background. The very center is a clear round glass faceted jewel.
This piece measures 9 1/4 inches diameter, 23.5 cm.
All of the glass pieces except for the jewel have been hand cut and assembled using copper foil and solder. The suncatcher has then been wrapped with lead came, a type of lead framing for strength and stability. Two loops have been soldered to the back with a small amount of chain included for hanging. The metals have been chemically treated to give them a dark patina.
