Bright colorful glass pieces arranged in a rainbow fashion radiating from the center makes this fused glass bowl vibrant and exciting. Creating this piece was a three step process involving glass and the heat of a kiln.
First I created multiple glass gems in assorted colors using the heat of the kiln. Once they cooled I arranged them onto a round piece of glass and completely fused all the pieces together fully. The third session in the kiln involved placing the fused glass disc on top of a bowl mold, heated to allow it to take the shape and then cooled very slowly to allow the glass molecules to realign and give the completed piece strength.
Measures 8 1/2 inches diameter at the opening, the base measures 4 3/4 inches wide at 2 inches tall. 22 cm at the opening with a 12 cm base by 5 cm tall. Food safe, hand wash only.
