Handcrafted stained glass hummingbird suncatcher captures one of nature's most amazing birds visiting colorful yellow and orange flowers.
This bright and bold colored round suncatcher measures 13 inches diameter, 33 cm.
All quality stained glass has been used for the creation of this suncatcher.
Bright yellow and orange wavy Waterglass stained glass has been used for the blooms along with both light and dark green glass for the leaves. All of the glass used for the parts of the hummingbird are of iridescent glass which is somewhat reflective.
The background is lightly textured sky blue colored glass.
Each piece of glass has been cut by hand and excess glass removed until all the pieces fit together like a puzzled. The glass pieces are then wrapped with copper foil and both front side then back side soldered together. Lead came, a type of framing, has been wrapped around the entire piece with loops soldered at 10 and 2 o'clock. Chemically darkened using black patina. Chain will be included for hanging.
