Hand painted and decorated colorful fused glass plate depicting a curious butterfly and fascinated kitty cat. Makes a lovely decorative display piece.
Original drawing first outlined with black glass paint. Next color was added by using powdered glass. This was done on the top clear glass piece which was placed on a base of white glass then all fused together in a kiln using a controlled schedule to insure a proper bond and to allow the piece to cool slowly to give it strength. A second application of color was applied which required another session in the kiln. Finally the piece was reheated in a mold to allow the sides to gently slope.
Measures 8 1/4 inch square, 21 cm.
