Amber stained glass star mandala suncatcher has been handcrafted using two shades of golden amber stained glass both in gentle wavy Waterglass texture along with a rougher texture in the darker shade. The very center is a clear round glass gem that was fused on site and contains a very cool air bubble in the center of the gem.
This piece measures 8 1/2 inches diameter, 21.5 cm.
All of the glass pieces except for the glob have been hand cut and assembled using copper foil and solder. The suncatcher has then been wrapped with lead came, a type of lead framing for strength and stability. Two loops have been soldered to the back with a small amount of chain included for hanging. Chemically darkened with black patina and polished to nice shine.
