I'm a big fan of silhouettes, especially of nature subjects against a colorful sky. I'm also trying my hand at creating items that fit this description. Here I've painted trees, they appear to be cypress trees, onto a canvas of blue glass. Next the glass was fused in a kiln twice to achieve the glossy finish. Finally, the design was returned to the kiln for a final firing to heat it enough to allow it to take the shape of the curved mold.
This decorative piece stands fully on its own, no other hardware is required in order to display.
Measures 9 inches long by 2 1/2 inches tall, 22 cm by 55 mm.
